Malcolm Manuel Burges, Sr., “MAC”, was born on April 9, 1926, in New Orleans, LA. He was an only child, born to Willie and Cecilie Burgs, both preceded him in death. He accepted the Lord as his savior at an early age in New Orleans, LA. He received his education in the New Orleans public school system.He served in the U.S. Army in World War II, as Private First Class, in the 71st. Amphibious Truck Company, where he served in Japan and in the Philippines. He earned numerous medals, ribbons and awards and was discharged with Honorable Service in 1946.
