  • Constituted 23 November 1944 in the Army of the United States as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 526th Port Battalion, Transportation Corps
  • Activated 4 December 1944 at Camp Gordon Johnston, Florida
  • Inactivated 20 May 1946 on Okinawa
  • Redesignated 16 October 1947 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 348th Transportation Port Battalion and allotted to the Organized Reserves
  • Activated 3 November 1947 at Houston, Texas
  • (Organized Reserves redesignated 25 March 1948 as the Organized Reserve Corps; redesignated 9 July 1952 as the Army Reserve)
  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 November 1950 as Headquarters, Headquarters and Service Company, 348th Transportation Port Battalion
  • Reorganized and redesignated 8 April 1955 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 348th Transportation Battalion
