The 353rd Harbor Craft Company was activated on 5 Jan 1944 and arrived at Camp Gordon Johnston on 29 Jan. They trained throughout the spring and summer, and departed for New York on 6 Aug. From 11 Aug to 22 Aug they sailed to Liverpool, then transferred to Southhampton on 23 Aug. The company was moved to Dinant, Belgium on 13 Apr 1945, and served in Germany and Paris. They departed Marseilles to stage for transfer to the Pacific, but the war ended and they returned to CGJ for deactivation. We are searching for more details about the 353rd.
