2012 Reunion Photos!

Photos from the 2012 Camp Gordon Johnston Days reunion and a few observations from the Camp Gordon Johnston Association…..

The 2012 Camp Gordon Johnston Days Reunion showed us that the “If you hold it, they will come”….. And, boy, did the people come to this year’s event. Aside from a few glitches we still had the most people ever.

The increasing number of Viet Nam veterans coming to our little town is most rewarding and we owe them long overdue gratitude and respect for their service as we also do for our “forgotten War” veterans from the Korean Conflict.

Also attending, almost unnoticed, were the current active duty and recently returned veterans of the Middle East deployments. These men and women need our support urgently as they are carrying the most recent scars of the casualties of war.

Veterans, all, are showing up in increasing numbers to experience the hospitality, gratitude and fellowship shown by the citizens of Franklin County.

It is also with deep sadness that we are seeing fewer and fewer of our WWII vets returning. They will always have our love and we will work hard to keep their memories alive. We have recorded many of their stories and they are available for viewing at the museum as are the unit records that we have placed on this web page.

God Bless our Veterans and God Bless America!
